It gets itself a little tangled in its ambition. Franco (as always) provides a stellar performance as Ed Maas, who genuinely just wants to see the staff make it out alive. It sounds like it should be a terrible, cheesy, stupid horror movie but I assure you it is NOT. Last, and certainly not least, were the dwarfs. I swear, you guys, I know how bad it sounds.
I also thought the Queen was an effective villain, as simple as she was, and her weapon of choice-the apple-has become as iconic as this story itself.
I liked Snow White's interactions with the animals in the forest, as the animals provided some much-needed life and humor to the story, and they made Snow White feel special and almost magical. I thought Snow White bumbling around in the woods was a dumb, pointless scene, I thought the prince was incredibly underdeveloped and made for a somewhat meaningless ending, and I thought the climax of the movie was missing the confrontation that I thought it needed.įortunately, all of those issues were minor issues, and I think plenty of that is nostalgia talking, but I think it is also a result of how well other aspects of the movie worked. Talking about the rest of the movie, not-outstanding, not bad robbery movie, canonical in many aspects, very achieved in the environment in which is set.
I knew it would be fun to revisit these movies, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was one of those movies. The Vault (Way Down) is a 2021 film directed by Jaume Balaguer. All I remember is a dialogue in which Thom makes a reference to Ocean Eleven, other than that, it’s just something not worth remembering. The things it offers are stale and not creative.

Looking at the larger picture, The Vault (Way Down) fails to create an impact. If "The Vault" decides to go for a trilogy, perhaps a future heist could occur in tandem with Super Bowl LI in 2017, where Tom Brady and the rest of the Patriots came back from behind against the Atlanta Falcons. It would give the prospective series a nice hook while opening up a host of unique possibilities. There's a good chance "The Vault" could spawn its own " Ocean's 11"-type franchise where the team grows as they pursue other high-profile jobs amid culturally significant sporting events. It seems like they're banking on the overly stretched police force and large crowds to aid them as they attempt an even bigger theft. This is a film that works best when the thrills are realistic and there are some good suspense bits, just not enough of them. The vault itself is ridiculously designed and veers more into fantasy than real life, and the science is deeply flawed too. It looks like they'd stick with that trend as the team has decided to break into the next vault during the 2012 Olympics, which took place in London. The old timers do better but are given little to do. One of the key elements from the film involves the job taking place during the 2010 World Cup in Spain.
